Farhan Lakhani

Partner

Farhan works with landlords and small investors, and handles every 1031 exchange the firm takes on.

Farhan grew up above his parents' shop and learned early what a lease could do to a family business. He started out drafting commercial leases before moving to residential work.

Today most of his clients own between one and ten rentals. He's the one who keeps the 45-day and 180-day dates of an exchange, and he calls before each one.

How Farhan plans an exchange

An exchange goes wrong at the start, not the end. Farhan wants to hear from you before you list the old rental, so the sale contract says what the exchange needs.

He works next to your accountant, not instead of them. They decide whether an exchange makes sense; he makes sure the contracts and closings hold up.
